Her childhood was spent in a small village in the middle of taiga, her adolescence in the Crimea. There followed studies in Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, marriage and children. Then came the unexpected change of destiny when her talent showed itself spontaneously yet insistently - she left her job to learn ivory carving in a workshop. It was not truly learning as her hands remembered something long-forgotten yet familiar and close - a mystery, maybe. Only a few months later a work of the young unknown artist was acquired by the most prestigious collection of world-wide known treasure-house, Kremlin museum “The Armoury Chamber” in Moscow.

Galyna's creative process is unusual in that there is no design; no models, sketches simply the material, tools, and....her hands.

Galyna is one of the few women in the world to be a master of netsuke - traditional Japanese miniatures. Her works are elegant and refined, her style charms by its beauty and femininity. Her sculptures invite you to look at and to hold them. Holding one in your hands you understand that the world is full of love and happiness. This understanding is the gift of the artist.
